So, there's apparently some weird trend among Gen Alpha (and the youngest of Gen Z) to "identify as autistic". Saw a couple threads on Reddit lately about it, and according to my FFXIV FC members, this is a thing which has been ongoing for a while. In many of the posts, I see the kid describing difficulty with social interaction; none of them talk about meltdowns or shutdowns, need for routine, hyperfocus beyond a normal one, ect...just the social interaction difficulty (and some increased anxiety). Since it's a known fact that many of these kids are in the "iPad generation"/ are iPad kids, the answer is obvious: They have no social skills because they communicate via their phone, tablet, computer, or games; instead of face to face interactions or imaginative play.
